Get READY for a “Bloomin’ good time” this April

While the city’s nearly one and a half daffodil bulbs hibernate, behind-the-scenes preparations are in full swing to transform Newport and its surroundings into a vibrant tapestry of bright yellow this April.

Brace yourselves for an explosion of floral euphoria as we gear up for their grand re-awakening during the city’s 13th Annual Newport Daffodil Days, scheduled for April 6th to 28th, 2024.

The Calendar of Events will be released shortly—packed with surprises, festivities, decorated store windows, and experiences that will elevate your love for Mother Nature to new heights. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for updates and sneak peeks on the Newport Daffodil Days facebook page.

Here’s your calendar of daffy doings this spring.

This map shows you all the fields of daffodils in Newport. Take a day and make it a daffy adventure!

An annual tradition

“Daffodil Days” began in 2012, inspired by requests of local merchants to celebrate the profusion of bright new daffodils that were starting to explode each April. “Rhode” races, a storefront window decorating contest, bike rally, doggie parade, garden tours, music concerts, and a “Driving Miss Daffodil” classic car parade became part of the many springtime festivities.

Newport’s Daffodil Days is an all-volunteer event, now part of Newport in Bloom, a non-profit organization that for 40 years has encouraged residents and businesses to beautify their gardens and public spaces with flowers.

If you choose to view the largest of the daffodil fields in Newport, please take pictures, not the flowers, so that all can enjoy.
